Suunto, the world’s leading producer of precision sports instruments, launches a new improved website on 2 December 2009. Initially running as a beta version alongside the existing suunto.com pages, the new site has been completely renewed and enhanced to increase Suunto’s online visibility and provide the best possible user experience.
"Re-designing of suunto.com is the kick-off-step in the process of launching new digital services across the consumer journey", says Juha Pinomaa, President of Suunto. “We highly value the received customer feedback and the conducted consumer studies that enabled us to improve www.suunto.com site to better meet the customer needs.”
Simpler navigation makes it much easier for visitors to find and compare products. Visitors can search for devices based on activity, features, and product type. When they find a product they are interested in, redesigned product pages give readers concise information about the device – as well as related products and accessories – on one page.
Sporting a brand new look and feel, the new site, beta.suunto.com, will receive high profile exposure on the existing suunto.com, as well as Suunto’s social networks on Facebook and Twitter. In the near future Suunto’s visibility in the social medial will be enhanced even more.
The new ww.suunto.com –site is built on EPiServer web content management system. Jaana Åström, Digital Marketing Manager in Suunto says: “EPiServer provides us with the effective system which includes all the multilingual features we need – and will enable us to easily localize content for current languages, English, German, Finnish, Italian, French and Spanish. More languages will follow later on.”
EPiServer partner Tietotalo Infocenter Oy (www.tietotalo.fi) is the technical implementation partner for Suunto.com. The graphical lay-out and concept design is done together with Advertising agency Poickeus Oy (www.poickeus.com).
The beta site will replace the existing site completely in early 2010, but until then Suunto customers can navigate around the future website by visiting beta.suunto.com, and send their comments on the new site via online feedback form.
