Suunto Core Glacier Gray, Lava Red, and Sahara Yellow are the all-in-one outdoor sports instruments for the vertically inclined
A leading sports precision instrument designer and manufacturer Suunto is launching new versions of the award-winning Suunto Core outdoor sports instrument.
The new Suunto Core Glacier Gray, Core Lava Red, and Core Sahara Yellow accurately gather the range of data and information needed when exploring the wilder parts of the world. The Suunto Core’s easy-to-navigate interface also helps improve safety in harsh conditions.
“Based on customer feedback, we have added new colors to the award-winning Core range,” says Mr. Simo Soini, Product Manager at Suunto. “The silver-black color combination in particular is a classic choice among outdoor enthusiasts. The product names reflect the different environments where Suunto Core users explore the great outdoors.”
The Core offers the essential functions for evaluating the surroundings when exploring – altimeter, barometer, compass, storm alarm, and sunrise/sunset times. Accurate to 9,000 meters (29,500 feet), the Core’s altimeter displays current elevation, elevation gained and lost, and records data for later analysis. The automatic alti/baro mode switches between altimeter and barometer depending on activity and shows the most relevant information for each situation.
The Suunto Core Glacier Gray has a composite case, positive display, and rotating aluminum bezel. The Core Lava Red has a positive display, while the Core Sahara Yellow a negative display. Both have a fixed bezel.
Suunto Core has taken the glory in one of the most renowned and hardest-fought international design competitions by winning the "red dot: best of the best" award at the 2008 red dot design competition in Germany.
The new Suunto Core models will be available at selected retailers from May onwards.
